What is it about?
Welcome to Felingard where humanoid cats live, puns aren't just appreciated but expected at every turn and monsters roam! You play as a cat in search of rescuing his sister who has been catnapped by the evil Drakoth who gets far too much pleasure from making you work for the return of your sister and making you fight his minions who may be stronger then you would expect a minion to be! Along the way, make friends, upgrade your armor, explore the expansive map, learn new skills and embark on side quests all while leveling up and living the life of a hero who is still learning about his roots as one of the few dragonbloods left!

What did I think?
To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the story line. I felt like there was a lot of potential and even some really great build up, but then the story line seemed to end a little too quickly with a "final boss" (if you can call it that) that was a little anti climatic. I think one of the things that bothered me the most was that it seemed as if the story was moving on, ending one story line but picking up another equally, if not more so, filled with adventure for the play to embrace, but instead there was nothing. I ended the story line at a level in the low 70's but while roaming around came across quests and caves (dungeons) that were marked as level 99 or even 200, leaving me to believe that there really was something more. For the first time in the game I began to level grind while searching for more story but found nothing but too easy quests and enemies that easily were defeated after casting one quick spell. I found myself board by the lack of challenge and, accepting what I had been told, walked away feeling a little as if I had been led on rather then completed a story.

However, I did enjoy the over all game play. The story was pretty simple, all things considered, and the NPC (Non playable characters) seemed to be created from just a few designs so that many different people looked exactly alike, but I found their personalities to be cute and I enjoyed their cat puns more then I probably should have. I appreciated that the game is really family friendly and while I did die quite a few times, the game itself is not particularly difficult.

I also appreciated that every town had a save spot that also served as a means of healing both health and mana. These spots were easy to find and were available often so that there were very few times in which I died and had to go back a ways, however, there were a few parts where I entered a cut scene or a dialog heavy part in the story and was unable to save, forcing me to relive them again and again if I died before beating the following battle and that I did find a little annoying.

In addition, I liked how leveling up didn't feel as if I needed to grind to get there. In fact, I didn't actually grind until after I finished the story line. Instead, I leveled up quickly just by engaging in a fight with any monster I saw and jumping into any cave I found along the way that wasn't at a level that was too high for me.

I would like to say, however, that while I was disappointed in the way the story ended, I did like that by completing the story line, you unlock what is described as a "new game" which, from what I can tell, is less of a new game and more of the familiar game with challenges in place to increase the difficulty, possibly significantly (I must admit, I didn't undertake these challenges).

But most of all, my favorite part about this game was how family friendly it was. While it did offer me some challenges, it wasn't too difficult for younger players which is perfectly matched with a very family friendly story line, content and characters. I loved that it was a game I was completely comfortable with playing around my kids, and had even purchased to play with my 8 year old daughter who adores cats!

What do I rate this?

I would rate this game a....

2.5 out of 5 whiskers

While I enjoyed this game, I didn't find it remarkable in any big way. I do appreciate the attempt to add some replay-ability and I may take part in those features later, but over all, I felt as if this game was average. I'm happy I played it, but I'm not going to write home about it, either.

That's what I thought about this game, let us know in the comments, have you played it? What did you think about it? Do you think this is a game you would like to play if you haven't already?
